Radon Testing Inspections

Do You Need A Test?

The need for radon testing arises from the fact that radon gas is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can be found in the air and soil in many parts of the country. Radon gas is invisible, odorless, and tasteless, so it cannot be detected by human senses. However, it can be harmful to human health if it accumulates to high levels in the air that people breathe. Radon gas is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, and is estimated to cause thousands of deaths each year.

Because of the potential health risks associated with radon gas, it is important for homeowners to have their properties tested for radon.

A radon test can provide valuable information about the levels of radon gas in a property, and can help homeowners and building managers to take steps to reduce the levels of radon if they are found to be elevated. This can help to protect the health of the occupants and ensure that the property is safe and healthy.

Education and understanding of radon is an important feature to our service.

We are always available for radon questions and referrals to information resources. All homes have some level of Radon. Radon can be an issue in all types of homes, including old and new homes, drafty homes, well insulated homes, homes with basements as well as those with crawlspaces and/or slabs. The only way to know whether radon exists in elevated levels in the home you own, the home you rent or the home that you are purchasing is to TEST the home!

Radon is a Class A known human carcinogen that causes lung cancer. Radon decay products attach to particles in the air which are inhaled and become lodged in lung tissue. There they radiate and penetrate lung tissue which can initiate the process of carcinogenesis.
